The euro number Dutch salons actually need
Most pricing guides for Fresha quote a dollar figure, because most of them are written for the US market. If you run a salon in the Netherlands, that number is not yours: Fresha's Dutch pricing page, fresha.com/nl/pricing, lists rates in euros, exclusive of 21 percent VAT, and they differ from the US plans you will find on generic review sites. This guide works from that Dutch euro pricing page, checked live on 11 September 2026, and breaks the total cost into the pieces that actually land on your invoice: the subscription, payment processing, the marketplace fee for new clients, and the optional add-ons.
For a feature-by-feature comparison with CelerBook, including a booking cutover point in number of appointments, see CelerBook versus Fresha. This guide goes deeper into Fresha's cost structure itself, with three worked euro examples for solo, small team and larger team setups.
The Fresha subscription: Independent, Team or Enterprise
Fresha has three tiers.
Independent: 14.95 EUR excl. VAT per month, for a business with one bookable team member or calendar. This is the entry plan for a solo hairdresser, nail technician or massage therapist working alone.
Team: 9.95 EUR excl. VAT per bookable team member per month. The total scales linearly with headcount: two team members costs 19.90 EUR, three costs 29.85 EUR, five costs 49.75 EUR.
Enterprise: above 20 team members, custom pricing, not published.
| Plan | Price (excl. VAT) | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Independent | 14.95 EUR/month | 1 bookable team member or calendar |
| Team | 9.95 EUR per team member/month | 2 to 20 bookable team members |
| Enterprise | Custom | More than 20 team members |

The subscription covers the core features: calendar, online booking page, client management, and reminders. What it does not cover, and where salons often lose track, is payment processing and the marketplace fee.
What sits outside the subscription: paying through Fresha Pay
Fresha offers built in payment processing, called Fresha Pay. That is a percentage of every transaction, on top of the monthly subscription.
| Payment method | Cost (excl. VAT) |
|---|---|
| Online payment | 1 percent plus 0.20 EUR per transaction |
| In person (card reader) | 0.89 percent plus 0.10 EUR per transaction |
| Tap to Pay | Plus 0.10 EUR per authorization on top of the in-person rate |
| Buy now, pay later (Klarna) | 3.49 percent plus 0.50 EUR per transaction |
| Card terminal rental | From 119 EUR excl. VAT |
Source: fresha.com/nl/pricing, checked 11 September 2026.
This is a percentage of your revenue, not of your appointment count. A salon with a high average ticket per appointment pays more euros than a salon with the same booking volume but a lower average spend per client. The worked examples further down this guide run that math for three scenarios.
Worth knowing: Fresha Pay is not mandatory. A salon using its own card terminal from a bank or another payment provider does not pay Fresha's percentage, but does pay that other provider's rate instead. The choice moves the cost, it does not make it disappear.
SMS, email and the new-client marketplace fee
Two more cost items sit outside the bare subscription figure.
SMS and email. The first 20 SMS messages per month are free, then 0.15 EUR per message. Marketing email: the first 50 are free, then 0.02 EUR per email. Marketing SMS costs 0.20 EUR per message (source: fresha.com/nl/pricing, checked 11 September 2026).
The marketplace fee. Fresha is more than software: it is also a marketplace where consumers search for and book salons through the Fresha app. For a new client who arrives that way, Fresha charges a one-off fee on that first booking. The percentage is not published on fresha.com/nl/pricing, and Fresha does not confirm it anywhere public. Several independent review sites consistently cite 20 percent with a minimum of roughly 6 dollars, but that is a third-party estimate, not a vendor source. Treat it as an indication, not a fixed fact, and check directly with Fresha if it matters to your decision.
For a salon that mostly serves returning clients and finds its own new clients, this fee stays limited. For a salon that leans on the marketplace to find new clients, it can become a recurring line item.
The add-ons: what they cost once switched on
Fresha sells a range of separate features as add-ons, each with its own monthly price.
| Add-on | Price (excl. VAT) |
|---|---|
| Client Loyalty | 59.95 per location/month |
| Insights | 9.95 per bookable team member/month |
| Google Rating Boost | 13.95 per location/month |
| AI Receptionist | 94.95 per location/month |
| Team Connect | 2.79 per team member/month |
| Data Connector | 245 per location/month |
| Premium support | 14.95/month |
Source: fresha.com/nl/pricing, checked 11 September 2026. Names come from the current pricing page; a couple of add-ons carried a slightly different name earlier (AI Concierge, for the same feature now called AI Receptionist).
None of these add-ons are required, the base subscription works without them. They matter to know about because some features that ship as standard with other providers can show up on the Fresha bill as a separate line.
Three worked euro examples: solo, team of 3, team of 5
Numbers make it concrete. Three scenarios, each with an assumed average spend per appointment. That average is an illustrative assumption for this example, not a published Fresha figure, used only to work out the payment fees.
Scenario 1: solo hairdresser, 60 appointments a month, 45 EUR average per appointment, paid through Fresha Pay in the salon.
| Cost item | Fresha | CelerBook |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | 14.95 EUR (Independent) | 0 EUR (no fixed subscription) |
| Payment fees (60 x 0.89% + 0.10 EUR on 45 EUR) | around 30 EUR | 0 EUR, CelerBook does not process payments |
| Per-appointment charge (55 billable after the first 5 free, 0.25 EUR) | not applicable | 13.75 EUR |
| Total excl. VAT | around 45 EUR | 13.75 EUR |
Scenario 2: team of three, 220 appointments a month, 35 EUR average per appointment, paid through Fresha Pay in the salon.
| Cost item | Fresha | CelerBook |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | 29.85 EUR (Team, 3 x 9.95) | 0 EUR (no fixed subscription) |
| Payment fees (220 x 0.89% + 0.10 EUR on 35 EUR) | around 90 EUR | 0 EUR, CelerBook does not process payments |
| Per-appointment charge, cap 30 plus 5 per extra staff member (2 extra) = 40 EUR | not applicable | 40 EUR (cap reached) |
| Total excl. VAT | around 120 EUR | 40 EUR |
Scenario 3: team of five, 300 appointments a month, 70 EUR average per appointment (higher-ticket treatments), almost everything tapped or swiped through Fresha Pay's card reader.
| Cost item | Fresha | CelerBook |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | 49.75 EUR (Team, 5 x 9.95) | 0 EUR (no fixed subscription) |
| Payment fees (300 x 0.89% + 0.10 EUR on 70 EUR) | around 216 EUR | 0 EUR, CelerBook does not process payments |
| Per-appointment charge, cap 30 plus 5 per extra staff member (4 extra) = 50 EUR | not applicable | 50 EUR (cap reached) |
| Total excl. VAT | around 266 EUR | 50 EUR |
Indicative worked examples using an assumed average spend per appointment, not a published Fresha figure. Fresha subscription and payment percentages: fresha.com/nl/pricing, checked 11 September 2026. CelerBook: 0.25 EUR excl. VAT per completed appointment, first 5 per month free, cap of 30 EUR solo plus 5 EUR per extra staff member. The marketplace fee and add-ons are not included here.
One pattern runs through all three scenarios: the more payments that flow through Fresha Pay and the higher the average spend per appointment, the bigger the gap. That is because Fresha's payment fees are a percentage of revenue, while CelerBook's cap is a fixed ceiling that does not move with revenue or appointment count. In scenario 3, with heavy card volume on a higher average ticket, the gap runs past 200 EUR a month. If that same salon used its own card terminal instead of Fresha Pay, the 216 EUR in Fresha payment fees would disappear, but the salon would then pay that other provider's rate instead, which narrows the gap without automatically closing it.
These worked examples leave out the marketplace fee and the add-ons. New clients arriving through the Fresha app add a one-off fee per new client on top, with the caveat that the percentage is not published by Fresha itself.
Trial period and cancelling
Fresha offers 7 days free, no credit card required. After that week the chosen plan continues at the standard rate unless you cancel first. No long-term contract is listed on the pricing page. CelerBook has no trial period because it is pay-as-you-go from day one: the first 5 appointments each month are free on an ongoing basis, every month, and a month with no usage means no bill. There is nothing to cancel with CelerBook, because there is no subscription to be tied to.
Where Fresha is stronger than a pay-as-you-go model
A fair comparison also shows where Fresha offers something CelerBook does not. Fresha is a marketplace with its own consumer reach: new clients can find your business through the Fresha app, something you have to build yourself through your own channels with a pay-as-you-go model. Fresha also has built in payment processing including buy-now-pay-later through Klarna, and a broad set of add-ons from loyalty programs to an AI receptionist. Those features CelerBook does not offer. Anyone leaning on that kind of consumer app for client acquisition loses that channel by switching to pay-as-you-go without a marketplace of its own. Which model wins depends on how much value you get out of that marketplace and that payment integration against what it costs you.
How to check this for your own salon
Four steps to get this clear for your own situation.
First, count your average number of appointments per month and your average spend per appointment over the last six months. Both figures determine how much you would pay in processing fees if you used Fresha Pay.
Then, estimate how many of your new clients would come through a marketplace versus your own channels, and ask Fresha directly what the current marketplace fee is for your situation.
Next, decide whether you need the add-ons or the base subscription covers what you need. Every add-on you switch on is a fixed monthly line item on top.
Finally, lay the total (subscription plus payment fees plus any marketplace fee and add-ons) next to a pay-as-you-go alternative at your own volume, not at an average.
If you want to try the pay-as-you-go model yourself: with CelerBook you pay 0.25 EUR excl. VAT per completed appointment, the first 5 per month free, with a cap of 30 EUR per month for a solo business plus 5 EUR per extra staff member. No percentage of your revenue, no marketplace fee, no fixed contract. For the full picture side by side, including a feature table and a cutover point in appointments, see CelerBook versus Fresha.
