CelerBook is online appointment software with a pay-as-you-go pricing model: €0.25 excl. VAT per completed appointment, capped at €30 excl. VAT plus €5 excl. VAT per additional staff member. No usage in a month means no invoice. Booksy is a global salon marketplace plus booking software, founded in 2014 and headquartered in the United States. Where CelerBook works differently than Booksy
Euro SaaS bill, no currency surprises
CelerBook charges its SaaS bill in euros excluding VAT: €0.25 per completed appointment with a cap of €30 plus €5 per additional staff member. Predictable month over month, no currency swings on your cost line. Booksy publishes USD pricing only at biz.booksy.com and converts your bill at each charge; currency moves between euro and dollar land directly on your statement. The display currency for your prices and your booking page is yours to set: EUR, USD, GBP, CHF or any of 150+ options. CelerBook does not issue invoices to your own clients.
Pay-as-you-go, no fixed monthly fee
CelerBook charges per completed appointment. A quiet month means a low bill; no usage in a month means no invoice. Booksy charges $29.99 per month for the first user plus $20 per additional team member, regardless of volume. For a solo salon up to about 110 appointments per month, and for businesses with seasonal peaks, the CelerBook model is cheaper. Above that CelerBook approaches its €30 cap and Booksy's flat monthly fee is the better deal.
Your own page, not marketplace lock-in
CelerBook gives you your own page at yoursalon.celerbook.com with a photo gallery of up to 15 images, custom theme colours, NL plus EN booking widget and a photo per staff member. Clients book directly with you. Booksy routes bookings through the Booksy marketplace and the Booksy consumer app. You gain reach, but your profile lives inside the Booksy ecosystem rather than on your own domain.

When Booksy fits better
You want marketplace reach for new clients
Booksy is first and foremost a marketplace: the Booksy consumer app has millions of active users worldwide according to their product page. Clients search for a hairdresser or barber in the app and book through Booksy. CelerBook has no marketplace; clients find you via Google, Instagram, your website or a direct link. If you actively need marketplace reach for new clients, Booksy fits better.
Gift cards, memberships or packages are essential
Booksy ships gift cards, treatment memberships, packages and online payments via Stripe integration as standard. CelerBook does not offer these. If your salon's daily revenue runs on gift cards or a membership model, Booksy fits better today.
Online payments, Tap to Pay or a card terminal belong to your daily flow
Booksy bundles a Stripe integration for online payments at booking (2.49 to 2.69 percent plus $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction), Tap to Pay on phone, and an own card terminal offering (BBPOS WisePOS E from $219.85, Stripe M2 from $53.10). CelerBook does not offer integrated payments; clients pay in store after the service. If you want no-show deposits or an integrated Tap-to-Pay flow on your phone, Booksy fits better.
Frequently asked questions about CelerBook vs Booksy
What is the main difference between CelerBook and Booksy?
The main difference is that CelerBook is pure software with euro pay-as-you-go and Booksy is a marketplace plus software with USD fixed monthly pricing. CelerBook charges €0.25 excl. VAT per completed appointment with a cap of €30 excl. VAT per month plus €5 excl. VAT per additional staff member. Booksy charges $29.99 per month for the first user plus $20 per additional team member, and also offers a consumer marketplace where clients find your profile. Want marketplace reach, pick Booksy. Want a transparent euro rate without a marketplace, pick CelerBook.
Which is cheaper, CelerBook or Booksy?
Up to about 110 appointments per month CelerBook is cheaper for a solo business; above that the gap is small. Booksy publishes $29.99 flat per month and adds a Boost commission of 30 percent on first visits of new clients who come in through the Booksy app. Booksy names no euro price, so the exact crossover depends on the exchange rate: at $29.99 it sits between 105 and 120 appointments. An example below that line: 80 appointments costs €18.75 excl. VAT in CelerBook (75 × €0.25). CelerBook caps at €30 excl. VAT plus €5 excl. VAT per additional staff member; Booksy has no cap and grows linearly with your team.
Does Booksy have a Dutch euro price?
No, and the Netherlands is not in Booksy's own country list either. The region picker on biz.booksy.com lists the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Poland, Spain, Brazil and Germany, but not the Netherlands; even the German page prices in dollars. So Booksy publishes US pricing only: $29.99 for the first user and $20 per additional team member. At charge time Booksy converts to euros at the current exchange rate, excluding any markup from your bank. CelerBook is in euros excluding VAT, a fixed price per appointment, with no exchange rate risk.
What does Booksy offer that CelerBook doesn't?
Booksy has a consumer marketplace (the Booksy app) where clients search for salons and book directly. Booksy also ships gift cards, treatment memberships, packages, online payments via Stripe integration and an own card terminal offering (BBPOS WisePOS E from $219.85, Stripe M2 from $53.10) as standard. Custom forms for intake and text marketing are also in the base rate. CelerBook does not offer these features today and is deliberately software-only without a marketplace.
Does Booksy offer a free trial?
Yes, Booksy offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card per biz.booksy.com. After 14 days the monthly subscription starts at $29.99. CelerBook gives the first 5 appointments per month free, ongoing with no time limit. A just-launched salon pays nothing in its first weeks.
What exactly is Booksy's Boost commission?
Boost is an optional Booksy feature that ranks your profile higher in the Booksy consumer app to find new clients. According to biz.booksy.com, turning on Boost costs nothing, but Booksy charges a one-time 30 percent fee on the first booking of a new client who comes in via Boost. Subsequent bookings from the same client are commission-free. CelerBook has no comparable marketplace and therefore no commission model.
How easy is it to switch from Booksy to CelerBook without losing client data or disrupting my business?
There is no automatic import, CelerBook has no CSV import for clients. You do not lose your client list and your business does not go down. Request a data export from Booksy support, then enter the clients yourself via Clients - New client. A list of up to a few hundred clients you can do yourself, for larger lists email info@celerbook.com. Booksy keeps running in the meantime: you only cancel once CelerBook is set up, so you do not start with an empty calendar.
Does Booksy have a long contract period?
No, Booksy is cancellable monthly with no commitment per biz.booksy.com. CelerBook works without a contract: pay-as-you-go. Stop scheduling new appointments and your invoice automatically returns to zero. No cancellation period, no exit fee.
Do I lose my marketplace reach if I switch to CelerBook?
Yes, if you currently acquire clients through the Booksy consumer app, you lose that channel on cancellation. CelerBook has no marketplace. For salons whose new-client flow runs on Google, Instagram and word of mouth, that is no loss. For salons where the Booksy app channel delivers more than 20 percent of new clients, this counts as a direct switching cost.
Do both work with SMS reminders?
Yes. CelerBook charges €0.11 excl. VAT via Twilio per appointment with SMS on, uncapped. Booksy includes text reminders as standard in the $29.99 base rate per their pricing page, with no per-message fee. Confirmation emails ship in both systems as standard. The difference is the reminder: ours runs over SMS, not over email.
Does Booksy have online payments that CelerBook doesn't?
Yes. Booksy has a Stripe integration for online payments at booking: 2.49 to 2.69 percent plus $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction, depending on entry method. CelerBook does not offer online payments; clients pay in store after the service. If you want to prevent no-shows with deposits, Booksy fits better on this point.
What exactly is Booksy Membership?
It is not a subscription you pay Booksy, but a feature that lets you sell your own membership to your clients. You set the price and pick which treatments it covers, and the client pays periodically for access to those. So it is a different thing from the Booksy Biz subscription at $29.99 a month, and different again from Boost, where Booksy takes a one-off 30 percent on a new client's first booking. CelerBook has no membership feature: clients book and pay per appointment in the salon.
